By Mark McCaffertyFollow ESPN Crikey With the Australian team still trying to decide which sandals will be worn by all of its players for the upcoming World Cup, Nike Australia has revealed which ones will be favoured by the women’s team and which will be the favoured of the men.
“There’s a lot of really good sandals out there, so we have a lot to look at,” Nike Australia Head of Sport, Scott O’Neill, told ESPN Crisksports.
“The women’s flop, the bikini sandals are the ones that we’ve got a lot in mind and are looking to do something with.”

Men’s sandalsThe women wear the Nike Fleece sandals which feature a very wide heel strike and a more athletic in-lined stance.
The men’s shorts feature a more structured stance and a higher heel strike, and the women are more inclined to stick to their kicks.
“It’s just about taking advantage of the fact that we have this amazing technology that we’re able to do with the technology,” O:Neill said.

The men also have a pair of sandals that will feature a unique design with the “Fleece” logo on the back, which they will wear in matches.
“One of the things that we really want to try and do is bring the same quality to the beach sandales that we put on the women,” O::Neill said, referring to the women wearing them during their first match in March.
“We wanted to do that, because we know that it’s the most iconic shoe in the world.
We’re really proud of the product and the shoe, and it will definitely be a great product.”
Men and women’s beach socksA pair of women’s sandal socks from Nike Australia, in conjunction with Nike.
The women will wear the “Cawley” style of sandal with a pair in the Nike Australian Under-19 team.
The players will wear a pair from Nike Australian women, in collaboration with the Women’s Super Rugby team.
“With the men we’ve also got a pair that is similar to the men and we are very excited to do this, but we’re also looking at a pair with a different colour, a slightly different design to try to bring a little bit of individuality to the sandals,” O:-Neill said of the women.
“A few of the players will be wearing one colour and then others will wear two colours.”
Women sandals have a different design for the men than for the girls.

The Australian women are also looking to add some colour to their footwear.
Nike Australia has previously released a range of men’s and women”s beach sandALS, including a pair for the 2017 World Cup.
“So it’s not like we’ve put a new design on to the shoe yet, we’re looking to give the women some colour, some colour in the sandal, to try really emphasise that they’re women and they’re playing for Australia,” O:’Neill said on the sidelines of the 2017 Women’s World Cup in New Zealand.
“So that’ll be something that we look to do as well.”
